Senate Bill 365 (Gordner) – Bill Summary – Increases from $1000 to $2000 the value level of personal property that can be sold by a 2nd Class Township without going to bid.

Senate Bill 399 (Gordner) – Bill Summary – Clarifies that a 2nd Class Township Supervisor can hold both an elected and appointed position within the township as long as it is not prohibited elsewhere in statute.

Senate Bill 5 (Langerholc) – Bill Summary – Prevents municipalities from imposing ordinances pertaining to firearms and ammunition that are more restrictive than state law; provides relief option for those adversely affected by local regulations.

  • Amendment A00528 (Hughes) – Removes the provisions of the bill regarding nullification of existing local ordinances regarding firearms and ammunition and adds language to make it clear that ordinances existing prior to the effective date of the bill would remain valid and not subjected to the provisions of the bill.
  • Amendment A00530 (Hughes) – Removes membership organizations from the definition of “person adversely affected.”
  • Amendment A00534 (Hughes) – Provides an exception to the municipal prohibition of local ordinances regarding firearms or ammunitions to allow municipalities to enact local ordinances to prohibit the possession of firearms and ammunition on municipal owned property, which includes, but is not limited to, municipal buildings, libraries and parks.
  • Amendment A00537 (Hughes) – Replaces the definition of “person adversely affected” with: a person who has resided in the political subdivision for no less than 12 months and is subject to any manner of regulation alleged to be promulgated or enforced in violation.
